Work from water. The river is the only reliable clearing, and low-water season concentrates everything along its edge. Canopy towers buy you the other layer — most of the Amazon's life happens forty metres above where you are standing.
Expect high ISO and no apology for it. Grain is a truthful record of a dark forest; a clean, bright Amazon frame is usually a lie about the place.
